This Page is dedicated to the memory of the late, great Tee Carson. Tee was
a world-class Piano player who played with just about everybody, including Ella Fitzgerald, Freddie Green, Dennis Wilson, and countless other jazz greats. When Count Basie was close to his own passing, he asked Tee to take his gigs, and even his place in the Basie Band. Besides being a world-class musician, Tee was a world-class individual, and also "the definition of a gentlemen." He also truly cared about the kids. Even after being diagnosed with cancer and moving to Cedar Park, Texas, he still would fly to Monterey once a month to do the clinics with the Monterey Jazz Festival. Tee passed away in February, 2000, and he will be missed, and never forgotten by all of us whose lives were touched by him.
